The Espresso Machine

The birth of the coffee machine can be traced to Turin in 1884 where Angelo Moriondo patented a bulk coffee brewer that controlled a supply of steam and water through grounded coffee. However the first machine was invented in France. Over the years the machine was refined to create single servings of coffee for each customer. Its popularity spread around Europe and America, by the 1500’s the espresso was being used as the building blocks for coffee based drinks such as cappuccino and the latte prepared by baristas. The rest is history!
